SIGN-IN/REGISTRATION: There will be a registration table set up at each meeting to sign in and pay your dues if needed. If you are unable to pay the MOPS Registration Fee due to current financial situations, do not worry. No mother will be excluded from participating in our MOPS group because of age, employment status, financial need, marital status, race, etc. Our goal is to nurture every mother of preschoolers and to reach out to her through encouragement and effective leadership opportunities. Please let the Coordinator know if you have any questions or concerns.
MEETING ROOM ATMOSPHERE: MOPS is designed to help you to be a better, refreshed mother. We ask that everyone transition their children to the appropriate MOPPETS classroom so as to create an uninterrupted learning and sharing time. If you have an infant with you, please be sensitive to this goal. As part of our program, children older than 18 weeks should be registered in our MOPPETS nursery.
DISCUSSION GROUPS: You will be assigned a table and will be part of this discussion group during the entire MOPS semester. Your Table Leader will contact you before each meeting to let you know the topics and other necessary information (meeting changes, breakfast rotation sign-up, special creative activities, etc). If you cannot attend, please let her know.
BRUNCH ROTATION: As part of your table assignments, your table will be on a rotating schedule for bringing a dish for the MOPS brunch. The week before you are scheduled to bring a dish, your Table Leader will pass around a sign up list. Any questions, please contact your Table Leader.
SPEAKERS: The first meeting of the month will include a speaker. We desire to present topics and ideas that make your life easier and more fulfilling as a mother of preschooler(s). If you have suggestions for future topics, please contact the Coordinator or Discussion Group Leader.
CREATIVE ACTIVITIES: The second meeting of the month will include a Creative Activity. Our goal is to use this time to learn a new skill or activity that is relevant, functional and/or introduces you to a new skill. If you have suggestions for future activities, please contact the Coordinator or Creative Activities Leaders.
GUESTS are welcome, but due to limited childcare, please contact your Table Leader first. If you have a friend who would like to join MOPS, please talk to the Coordinator.
ATTENDANCE POLICY: If you are unable to attend a meeting, please call your Table Leader if possible. Besides the obvious reasons (traveling, sickness, birth), there will be a "3 strikes" rule for moms who are tardy or absent. If a mom is more than 20 minutes late to 3 meetings, her spot will be given away to a waiting list mom. Tardiness or absences will be taken on a case-by-case basis. This policy was created to encourage commitment to attending MOPS and provide those moms who attend with the support and fellowship time they seek.
NEWSLETTER: Our newsletter is printed once/month. Here is a place for you to give a book review, share a recipe, a poem, a cartoon, helpful hints or share a funny experience. Submit your contribution to the Coordinator or to your Table Leader. MOPS leadership reserves the right to make final decisions on what is published and to edit material for content or size.
QUESTIONS? COMMENTS? IDEAS? CONCERNS? Please see the Coordinator.
